About the Evangelist

Dr. Shion O’Connor is an ordained Minister of the Gospel with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church currently serving in the Cayman Islands Conference as the Pastor for the Ebenezer SDA Church and the Director for The Institute for Essentia Care Ltd., a mental health care facility. He began his ministry in May 1994 in the Central Jamaica Conference and later called to the Cayman Islands Conference in July of 2000 where he was appointed a Pastor for Kings and West Bay Churches for a cumulative period of Nineteen (19) years. Thereafter, he served at Maranatha and Ebenezer Churches for another two (2) years.

Dr. O’Connor has served the Church in various capacities including but not limited to being a Departmental Director in the following Departments at the Cayman Islands Conference: Personal Ministries; Education; Family Life Ministries; Adventist Men Ministry; Public Affairs; and Religious Liberty. He would later be appointed as the President of the Cayman Islands Conference in January 2012 where he served for six years before moving to California to pursue

his doctoral degree. While pursuing his clinical training, Dr. O’Connor accepted the opportunity to pastor the Mountain View Central SDA Church in Silicon Valley, a position he held for three

years.

As an Evangelist, Dr. O’Connor brings in a dynamic style of preaching which is spirited and is known to carry his audiences even when handling otherwise complex topics. Beyond preaching

the gospel, Dr. O’Connor is gifted in Family Life, Spirit of Prophecy and Bible Study. He is a graduate of Northern Caribbean University with Bachelor of Arts in Religion & Theology; University of Liverpool in England with a Bachelor of Laws; Capella University in Minneapolis,

Minnesota where he earned Masters in Human Services with emphasis in Marriage, Couples & Family Counselling and from California Southern University with a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology.
